Manicure in Minutes!*

So last time, I talked about some of the backstage action behind Fashion Week – click here if you missed that post.

After the show, I noticed that a few small items were left behind, underneath the catwalk show seats. Some people got Eyelure Eyelashes as part of their complimentary goodie item and other got various items.

Under my seat I found a cute sized mini-plastic box with nails inside…

Now I’ve never really been a fan of stick-on nails, but to be honest with you, I’ve been failing to make any effort with my nails recently.

For some reason, I’ve focused all my attention on my toes, neglecting my hands completely – in a pure CBA [can't be arsed] fashion.

So I thought this nail kit could provide the perfect salvation!

My Findings:

If you are like me and find it tiresome to site there applying layers-upon-layers of nail polish at short notice, then I would highly recommend imPress for you.

It’s a small and convienient kit, that’s easy to use and doesnt require any glue, unlike most stick-on nail kits. According to the packaging, these kits are supposed to last you for ‘up to a week’. However I honestly can’t vouch for that just yet, because I’ve only had these on for a day so far. That said, I have had my fingers in the kitchen sink, I’ve caressed my head a couple of times and I’ve even seasoned my chicken thighs for dinner tonight [yumm]… I still don’t see any sign of these coming loose just yet. So that’s a thumbs up from my end!

Before I applied these, I did try to prep them by buffing the surface, beforehand without adding cuticle oil. My nails are fairly small, so I did find it hard to find the right size nail for my middle fingers at first. However I don’t think they look too bad.

I think that this would be a good quick-fix solution for having something on your nails in an instant! I would probably use these if I didn’t have enough time to get my nails done at the nail bar and my nail polish had just ran out! I can imagine that imPress would provide a great SOS for crisis nail situations!

The only thing I would say, is that you need to be careful that the adhesive on the cuticle end, doesn’t disappear. Otherwise you could find that the corners of the nails get stuck on items. Other than that, it was fairly easy to apply and lasted much longer than any other nail adhesive that I tried back in the day.

The LGL Rating:

I have to say for stick on nails – this product has impressed me so far!

I loved the fact that the set came in a short length, so it didn’t prohibit me from texting or washing up.

I loved the fact that there was limited ‘no-fuss’ fiddling involved with the application. So it’s a:

LGL Score: 4/5 ‘Lippy’ Stars

4-5 StarsSince trying the nails, I did more research on the brand and found out that impress comes in a range of designs.

In the UK, you can get them from Boots and Superdrug. Here’s the link, for more information on the brand.

What are your thoughts on stick-on nails, have you/would you ever try them?
